Pakistani Community In Oman Mark Independence And Minorities Day

Muscat: Indus Social Club and Latifi Sangat Oman will jointly host a major celebration in Muscat on August 11, 2025, to commemorate Pakistan's Independence Day and Religious Minorities Day.

Pakistan's Ambassador to Oman, Dr. Naveed Safdar Bukhari, served as the program's Chief Guest. Officials from the Pakistani Embassy were also in attendance.

Other notable guests that attended the event include Sayed Fayaz Ali Shah, Mian Mohammed Riaz, Haji Iqbal Haryani, Rab Dino Shar, Dr. Aftab Shah, Dr. Danish Shams Memon, Choudhry Shakoor, Raja Akhmat Hayat, Mian Muneer, Ali Ashfaq, Dr. Sharaf Attaullah, Dr. Ahmed Nawaz Hakro, Shandar Bukhari, Imran Toor, Farhan Gillani, Aftab Gillani, Kashif Zaeem, Vikram Kessani, Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Dr. Devi Das, Dr. Prem Chand, Engineer Dileep Kumar, Sandeep Kumar, and from the Christian community, Zeerash Denial, Asif David, William John, and a large number of community members.

The event took place at the Park Inn Radisson Hotel in Azaiba, Muscat. The event began with Talawat Quran Pak, Gayatri mantra, and holy prayer of Christianity, followed by the Pakistan National Anthem.

The Ambassador of Pakistan, Dr. Naveed Safdar Bukhari, Sayed Fayaz Shah Sahab, and Usman Lakhan were honored with Lungi gifts.
Dileep Kumar delivered the welcome address, stressing QuaideAzam, the country's founder, statement on August 11, 2025, that all inhabitants of the new country will be treated equally.

Dr. Dileep Kumar remarked that they are overseas Pakistanis and a religious minority, and the majority must care for the minority; similarly, the religious majority must care for the freedom and convictions of the religious minority.

Religious minorities play an important role in the country's growth and progress. He prayed and hoped that we would help to foster religious harmony and brotherhood among all faiths, as well as work for the country's prosperity and development.

The speakers lauded the military's contribution in their recent triumph. On this event, Ali Ahsfaq Mangi, Dr. Sharaf Attaullah, Raja Akhmat Hayat, and, in conclusion, HE, the Pakistani Ambassador to Oman, spoke.

Dr. Naveed Safdar Bukhari addressed the house, emphasising the significance of independence and worked tirelessly for the benefit of the country.

He has also said that all religious minorities are equal residents of the country, and that they have contributed significantly to the country's development.

At the end of the event, a cake-cutting ceremony was held. The event was hosted by Barakat Shaikh, with technical coordination by Chattan Balach.

At the end of the ceremony, Dr. Ahmed Nawaz Hakro thanked all of the attendees, HE the ambassador, and the organizers. The event organizers, Dr. Dileep Kumar, Usman Lakhan, and Asim Siddiqui, arranged for supper and a group picture.
