His Majesty Arrives In Algeria

His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik arrived in Algiers today for a two-day official visit to the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria.

The welcoming committee for His Majesty was headed by President Abdelamdjid Tebboune of Algeria. Upon his arrival at Houari Boumediene International Airport, the President personally greeted His Majesty at the base of the ramp.

Additionally, His Majesty was received by various high-ranking officials from the Algerian government.

Following that, His Majesty and the Algerian President proceeded to the dais of honor, where the national anthems of both Oman and Algeria were played.

His Majesty then conducted an inspection of the guard of honor, while artillery units performed a ceremonial 21-gun salute in his honor.

Subsequently, His Majesty engaged in handshakes with members of the Algerian welcoming committee and the staff from the Sultanate of Oman’s Embassy in Algeria.

In response, President Tebboune greeted the members of the official delegation accompanying His Majesty the Sultan.

Afterward, the Algerian President guided His Majesty to a hall for a friendly meeting.

Immediately before the meeting commenced, the heads of diplomatic missions accredited to Algeria came forward to shake hands with both His Majesty the Sultan and the Algerian President.

At the beginning of the discussions, the Algerian President warmly welcomed His Majesty the Sultan, who conveyed his sincere gratitude and appreciation for the hospitality and warm reception he received.

During their discussions, both leaders engaged in friendly dialogue and reflected on the long-standing relationship between their nations.

His Majesty the Sultan is joined on this visit by a distinguished delegation, including HH Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik Al Said, the Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs; Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal Al Busaidi, Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court; Gen. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Nuamani, Minister of the Royal Office; Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister; Dr. Hamad bin Said Al Aufi, Head of the Private Office; Abdussalam bin Mohammed Al Murshidi, Chairman of Oman Investment Authority; Dr. Saud bin Hamoud Al Habsi, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources; Dr. Hilal bin Ali Al Sabti, Minister of Health; and Saif bin Nassir Al Badaai, Ambassador of Oman to Algeria.

Later, the President of Algeria escorted His Majesty the Sultan to his residence, where a detachment of cavalry from the Algerian Republican Guard flanked the entrance, demonstrating their welcome and joy regarding His Majesty's visit to Algeria.
