Adam: The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Water Resources has announced the start of trial operations for the Al Bashayer Vet Hospital in the Wilayat of Adam, Al Dakhiliyah Governorate, beginning next Tuesday.
The development of this animal clinic is part of the ministry's continued efforts to improve the veterinary care infrastructure in the Sultanate of Oman and raise animal health services, with an investment of over OMR1 million.
Al Bashayer Vet Hospital is the first specialist, integrated livestock hospital in Oman, offering sophisticated diagnostic, therapeutic, and surgical services.
It has a variety of specialist departments and amenities, including outpatient and inpatient veterinary clinics, a fully stocked pharmacy, specialized laboratories, and operating rooms for both large and small animals, as well as a dedicated department for camel medicine, pregnancy-related concerns, infertility treatment, and artificial insemination.
Through this project, the ministry seeks to build the infrastructure for animal care and promote private sector involvement in the delivery of specialist technological services.
The contracted company is committed to providing the necessary medical, technological, and administrative personnel to run the hospital in accordance with quality standards and Omanization regulations, as well as covering all operational expenditures throughout the contract period.
The trial operation is a major step toward assisting livestock farmers in Oman and enhancing the healthcare services available to them. This project contributes to biosecurity and the strengthening of sustainable animal production systems, consistent with the agreement inked between the ministry and Al Khayrat Agricultural Services and Development Company, which will manage and operate the hospital to provide full veterinary medical services that meet the highest standards.
