London: The Royal Cavalry of the Royal Court Affairs (RCA) concluded its participation in the Royal Windsor Horse Show, which took place on the grounds of British Royal Windsor Castle, with the participation of specialized equestrian teams from numerous countries throughout the world.
The Royal Cavalry participated under the topic "The Sultanate of Oman: Jewel of Arabia," during which its male and female riders performed a variety of traditional Omani equestrian skills, including "Ardha" galloping and horse hypnosis shows, accompanied by Omani, Arabic, and international musical pieces played by the Royal Cavalry Band.
Eng. Hilal Mohammed Al Wa'eli, Head of Royal Horses, Camels, Farms, and Gardens Affairs at the Royal Court Affairs, stated that the Royal Cavalry's participation in the Royal Windsor Horse Show included several traditional equestrian performances accompanied by numerous musical pieces performed by the Royal Cavalry Band, which were highly appreciated by the audience.
He stated that the Royal Cavalry's involvement in these global events demonstrates Oman's commitment to horses and equestrianism, which has earned the country a prominent position in this sector.
Dr. Sarhan Salim Al Zidi, the Royal Cavalry's Director General, remarked that the Royal Cavalry's involvement in the Royal Windsor Horse Show reflects the strong ties between the Sultanate of Oman and the United Kingdom. He said that it was a wonderful chance for Royal Cavalry riders to share knowledge with counterparts from different countries.
Al Zidi stated that these events provide opportunities to highlight Oman's rich cultural and civilizational history, as well as tourism. During the event, the Royal Cavalry performed a visual display portraying Oman's most notable cultural and natural tourist sites.
Notably, the Royal Windsor Horse Show is one of the world's most renowned equestrian events, having been founded in 1943. The 82nd edition included several international competitions in show jumping, dressage, carriage driving, and endurance, as well as the main event, which saw specialist global equestrian teams perform on the grounds of Britain's Royal Windsor Castle.
