Former Pakistan Cricket Team Captain Loves Peaceful Oman

Muscat: Veteran batter and former captain of the Pakistani cricket team Syed Inzamam ul Haq visited Muscat for a brief stay to attend the Pakistan Independence Day ceremony hosted by the Pakistani Embassy at the Inter City Hotel on Wednesday.

After an absence of around 33 years, Inzamam was pleased to see that much of the city had maintained its appearance since his previous visit in 1992–1993.

The former captain of the Pakistani squad fell in love with the city's tranquility right away, and he resolved to return, even though the trip only lasted two days.

He said that he had heard of the Sultanate of Oman's natural beauty and wanted to visit the entire nation soon.

He responded to the question about the terrible condition of Pakistani cricket by saying that the team's state doesn't seem to be in a good place when considering the 202-run defeat in the match against the West Indies in Trinidad.

"However, it's positive that younger people are being given a chance. They are a talented group that can improve in the future. I think that every team is a combination of juniors and seniors, regardless of when it is created. Insallah, the team's performance will get better every day if you strike the right balance between the two.

“The biggest issue with athletes nowadays is their lack of confidence. Even if a cricketer is extremely skilled, his performance will suffer if he believes he will be fired after playing two or three games. ”

According to him, the Pakistan squad is not lacking in talent; they just need more self-assurance. Babur is facing a similar issue as well, according to him, and when you play for a long time, you will inevitably have a rough period in your career.

"Babar is a world-class player, and he needs your support. Inzamam stated in conclusion that if you support him, he will quickly recover his form and play far better than he has in the past.
