Muscat: The Swiss Embassy in Oman is delighted to have a booth at the Oman Sustainability Week (OSW) 2025 Exhibition, which will take place from May 12 to 14 at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Center.
Seventeen Swiss businesses from many industries, including as renewable energy technology, sustainable infrastructure, construction, environmental technology, carbon storage, sustainable financing, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence, are present at the pavilion. Notable contributors include ABB, AIK Technik, Arva Greentech, Burckhardt Compression, Dreamlab Technologies, Edmond de Rothschild, Georg Fischer Corys, ReadyMix Holcim, Kanadevia Inova, Landis + Gyr, LGT, Macun, MAN Energy Solutions Switzerland, Reichle & DeMassari, SGS, Swiss AI, and Synhelion.
A delegation will also travel to Muscat for the OSW 2025, which includes the Delegate of the Swiss Federal Council for Agenda 2030 as well as representatives from the Swiss Federal Office of Energy, Swissmem (the Swiss association for mechanical and electrical engineering industries), the Swiss Export Risk Insurance (SERV), the Swiss Business Hub Middle East, the Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Science and Technology (Empa), and the Oman Switzerland Friendship Association (OSFA).
The Delegate for Agenda 2030, as well as numerous firm officials, will attend the International Sustainability Resources & Technology Conference (ISRTC) and the OSW and OPES Talks to discuss their vision and unique ideas.
Furthermore, a workshop will be hosted between the Swiss Delegate for the Agenda 2030 and the Directorate of Sustainable Development at the Ministry of Economy, focusing on methods to achieve the national sustainable development goals (SDGs).
To commemorate Oman Sustainability Week, the Swiss Embassy will unveil a new mural by well-known Swiss artist duo Nevercrew at Sohar Port and Freezone. The mural, which depicts a delicate glass whale sheltering a miniature marine environment, reflects the delicate balance between human action and nature. The artwork also emphasizes the critical role of alternative energy in developing a sustainable future by using imagery associated with water and green hydrogen, serving as a strong visual reminder of our shared duty to conserve the environment.
