Muscat: On Tuesday, the Sultanate of Oman will host the Omani-European Cooperation Forum on Energy and Water, gathering a small group of experts, investors, and officials from both sides.
The two-day event is coordinated in collaboration with the European Union Delegation to Oman, Nama Group, and the EU-GCC Cooperation Project for Green Transition.
The forum hopes to achieve a number of important goals, including deepening Oman's relationship with the European Union in renewable energy and water, as well as sharing best practices and experiences in environmental legislation. Furthermore, it intends to encourage European investment in green infrastructure projects in Oman.
The forum's agenda includes numerous panel sessions on a variety of issues, including smart grids, energy storage, digital technology in utilities, water efficiency improvements, and green financing strategies. Successful European experiences and creative energy and water solutions will also be featured.
The event is anticipated to help establish a common plan for long-term collaboration between Oman and the European Union, increase public-private partnership prospects, and build an appealing investment climate for energy and water projects.
It is important to highlight that the conference represents a watershed moment in the continuing collaboration between the two countries, demonstrating their desire to convert environmental issues into development possibilities that benefit future generations while also improving the region's environmental and economic security.
