Muscat: The Omani-Bahraini Friendship Association (OBFA) convened a regular meeting at the Diplomatic Club in Muscat on Monday.
The meeting, which included representatives from the Sultanate of Oman and the Kingdom of Bahrain, addressed important concerns pertaining to ways to strengthen bilateral ties and create cooperation programs.
The meeting resulted in the election of OBFA board members for the years 2025 to 2028. During the elections, Rudaina Amer Al Hajri was confirmed as Head of the Board of Directors for the second time. Sheikha Jawahir Al Khalifa was appointed Deputy Head of the Board of Directors, while Dr. Ahmed Said Al Jahwari was chosen Secretary General and Ahmed Mohammed Al Ardi Treasurer.
The meeting also included the rearranging of the Association's standing committees as follows:
The Economic Committee, headed by Abdullah Saleh Al Shanfari; the Membership and Affiliation Committee, headed by Manar Malallah Al Balushi; the Communication and Media Committee, chaired by Maryam Ghalib Al Alawi; the Programmes and Events Committee, headed by Shihab Ahmed Al Mujaini; and the Sports Committee, headed by Ismail Al Ajmi.
Rudaina stated in a speech that the OBFA will continue working to improve OmanBahrain collaboration in tourism, culture, and economic. She also stated that the next phase would include projects and programs aimed at enhancing communication between the inhabitants of Bahrain and Oman while also emphasizing their shared beliefs.
