Marrakesh: The Sultanate of Oman participated in the activities of the third session of the Marrakesh Parliamentary Economic Forum for the EuroMediterranean and Gulf Regions of the Mediterranean Parliamentary Assembly (PAM). Hamad bin Nasser Al Nabhani and Sheikh Sultan bin Mattar Al Azizi, both members of the State Council, represented Oman at the conference.
The workshop focused on a number of major themes over two days, including the economic outlook for the EuroMediterranean and Gulf regions, changes in international trade and finance in the EuroMediterranean and Gulf regions, energy transition, adaptation, and energy security: strategic options, as well as artificial intelligence (AI) and the governance of its usage: improving parliamentary oversight.
During the conference sessions, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between the Mediterranean Parliamentary Assembly (PAM) and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO). Furthermore, the International Initiative to Facilitate Sahel Countries' Access to the Atlantic Ocean was underlined, offering a strategic and creative vision for peace, security, and shared development.
