Oman Participates In GCC Higher Education Ministers’ Meeting

Kuwait: On Monday, the Sultanate of Oman participated in the 25th meeting of GCC Ministers of Higher Education and Research, which was held in Kuwait.

Oman's delegation was led by Dr. Rahma Ibrahim Al Mahrouqi, Minister of Higher Education, Research, and Innovation.

The meeting focused on ways to promote collaboration and integration among Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries in the areas of higher education, research, and innovation.

The meeting focused on shared systems of higher education, innovation, and entrepreneurship. It also addressed common ways of teaching and learning in higher education institutions, methods of creating community relationships and connections at the regional and worldwide levels, and strategies for planning future development in a way that keeps up with fast changes.

The meeting also addressed topics including as digital transformation and cybersecurity in higher education, improving the "Gulf Network for Quality Assurance in Higher Education," and fostering international collaboration.

The meeting addressed the GCC Secretary General's proposal to modify the structure of committees and teams in charge of higher education and research.

It also looked at a plan to include the notion of "GCC citizenship" into the curriculum of GCC higher education institutions.
