Third Round Of Iran-US Talks End In Muscat, Next Meet On May 3

Muscat: A third round of high-level nuclear discussions between the United States and Iran took place on Saturday in Muscat.

Both parties agreed to reconvene for the next round of negotiations on May 3rd.

Following the discussions, Oman’s Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Al Busaidi remarked, “The talks between the US and Iran on Saturday revealed a common goal of achieving an agreement rooted in mutual respect and lasting commitments. Key principles, objectives, and technical matters were thoroughly explored. Further discussions are scheduled to continue next week, with another high-level meeting tentatively set for May 3rd. ”

The talks were led by Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and US envoy Steve Witkoff, alongside Oman’s Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Al Busaidi.

In the previous two weeks, Iran and the US had engaged in discussions in Oman and Italy with the aim of reaching an agreement concerning Iran’s nuclear program and the lifting of sanctions on Tehran.
