Muscat: In Oman, the Royal Navy marked the commencement of the construction of four automated landing ships by laying down the initial steel plate for the ‘Sawari’ initiative.
This significant ceremony was held at the headquarters of Marsun Company in Thailand and was presided over by Dr. Mohammed bin Nasser Al Zaabi, who serves as the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Defence.
Rear Admiral Saif bin Nasser Al Rahbi, who commands the Royal Navy of Oman, was present at the event along with the Omani Ambassador to Thailand, high-ranking officials from the Ministry of Defence, and various prominent Thai figures.
During the visit, Dr. Mohammed bin Nasser Al Zaabi and his delegation engaged in discussions with General Nataphon Narkphanit, the Deputy Minister of Defence for Thailand, along with other officials from Thailand. Their talks focused on improving collaborative efforts in several fields of shared interest.
Previously, the Secretary-General and his team toured the Defence and Military Energy Industries Centre, part of the Office of the Secretary-General at the Thai Ministry of Defence. They also participated in a workshop with top Thai firms that specialize in defence manufacturing.
