Qualifiers To Represent Oman At ITEX 2025 Announced

Sohar— Today, the Ministry of Higher Education, Research, and Innovation revealed the names of three individuals who will represent the Sultanate of Oman at the International Invention, Innovation, and Technology Exhibition (ITEX 2025). This event is set to occur from May 29 to May 31, 2025, at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre in Malaysia.

The ceremony to announce the qualifiers took place at Sohar University, with Mohammed Suleiman Al Kindi, the Governor of North Al Batinah, serving as the patron. Attending the event was Dr. Saif Abdullah Al Haddabi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Higher Education, Research, and Innovation for Research and Innovation.

The individuals chosen are:

Yousra Yousuf Al Ghadani for her project titled “Squid Ink Water Filter," Malak Khalifa Al Harthy for her innovation “Portland Cement Reinforced with Carbon Nanosheets as a Dental Filling," and Badr Salim Al Muqbali for his project “Remote Control Device for Ring Main Unit Operation. "

ITEX is a yearly international exhibition that connects inventions, innovations, and technology, often called the “Marketplace of Inventions and Innovations. " It acts as a vibrant platform that links inventors, investors, entrepreneurs, and startups, allowing them to present and promote their groundbreaking innovations.

Participants from over twenty countries in Asia and Europe come together for the exhibition, showcasing more than 1,000 inventions across different categories. The event also includes competitions, funding avenues, and marketing opportunities, facilitating connections between investors and industry specialists with inventors, thereby encouraging the exchange of ideas and innovation across diverse sectors.
