Muscat: The First Regional ALECSO Forum for Education, Culture, and the Arts will take place in Dhofar Governorate on September 1-2.
This event is organized by the Ministry of Education in collaboration with the Arab League Educational, Cultural, and Scientific Organization (ALECSO).
Experts and educators with a focus on education, culture, and the arts from ALECSO will be in attendance, alongside representatives from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) nations.
The forum showcases ALECSO's commitment to promoting the significance of culture and the arts within the educational framework, aligning with the UNESCO Global Framework for Education for Culture and the Arts, which was introduced at the World Conference in Abu Dhabi in 2024. It also fosters collaborations among governments, cultural organizations, and the private sector, while encouraging investment in educational and cultural infrastructure.
The agenda for the forum includes the introduction of three key reference documents: the School Theater Guide, the Music Education Guide, and the Fine Arts Education Guide. These resources are anticipated to aid in the advancement of arts curricula and act as a reference for educational institutions in the involved countries.
Additionally, the forum will feature field trips to several notable educational and cultural institutions in Dhofar Governorate, as well as hands-on workshops aimed at integrating modern technologies into art education, improving the effectiveness of artistic educational practices, and nurturing innovation and creativity among students.
