Muscat: The Ministry of Education, in collaboration with the Modern College of Business and Science, today marked the commencement of the first group of students in the Vocational and Technical Education Track in Business Administration and Information Technology for the academic year 2024/2025.
The event was conducted under the auspices of Dr. Madiha Ahmed Al Shibani, the Minister of Education.
Dr. Abdullah Khamis Ambusaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education for Education, stressed the Ministry's dedication to promoting vocational and technical education, which will be offered in the 2023/2024 academic year. He characterized it as a strategic decision that meets the needs of sustainable national development and significantly contributes to the enhancement of national capabilities by providing youth with the practical and specialized skills required by the current job market.
He emphasized that this track not only prepares students for the job market, but also promotes a culture of work and self-reliance, offering Omani youth greater opportunities to innovate and lead in dynamic productive sectors in line with the goals of Oman Vision 2040.
During his remarks, Mousa Abdullah Al Kindi, Dean of the Modern College of Business and Science, stated that the graduation of 138 highly skilled graduates represents a comprehensive national strategy and ambitious vision for Oman, which places technical and vocational education at the top of its priorities and invests in developing youth's capabilities as a foundation for shaping the nation's future.
The event featured a visual presentation highlighting the history of the BTEC program.
