Muscat: The Times of Oman, in collaboration with the Embassy of India in Oman, organized a distinguished ceremony to honor the young participants of its Art Competition, which was held in celebration of the 79th Independence Day of India.
The evening was attended by His Excellency Mr. GV Srinivas, Ambassador of India to Oman, as well as Mr. Fadi Kattar, Chief Operating Officer of Muscat Media Group, the publisher of the Times of Oman.
During the event, representatives of the Times of Oman expressed their gratitude to the Indian Embassy for its support and encouragement, which contributed to the success of the initiative, as well as to the event sponsors for their generous contributions. The event, supported by Shah Nagardas, Khimji Ramdas Group, and Lulu Exchange, celebrated the creativity, imagination, and artistic expression of children across three age categories: 4-8 years, 9-11 years, and 12-14 years.
Numerous young participants showcased their affection for India through their artistic creations, with select children receiving certificates of participation and appreciation during the ceremony. Enhancing the cultural aspect of the evening, talented students from the Delicious Dance Academy and King’s United Muscat delivered vibrant dance performances, infusing the celebrations with energy and color.
“This initiative reflects our commitment to promoting creativity, community spirit, and cultural exchange,” stated a spokesperson for the Times of Oman. “We are pleased to provide a platform for children to express their talents while commemorating India’s Independence Day.”
The Art Competition and certificate ceremony underscored the shared values of art, culture, and community between Oman and India, thereby reinforcing the spirit of friendship and collaboration.
