Muscat: A large gathering of individuals flocked to Qurum Park on Friday, one of the key locations for Muscat Nights.
Attendees of all ages, including both Omanis and expatriates, came out in droves to experience the captivating evening performances. The parking area within Qurum Park was completely filled, leaving no available spaces.
As a cool breeze swept through the evening, the comfort of a lengthy walk from the campus to the venue provided a pleasant sensation.
The atmosphere was charged with excitement, as young Omani children eagerly led their families to the venue, eager to catch the shows. One young toddler was seen energetically pushing a sibling in a wheelchair, determined to catch a glimpse of the stunning display.
Long before the laser show commenced, nearly all the seats in the stadium were occupied, with attendees waiting in anticipation for the spectacular event.
With numerous kiosks scattered throughout the area, visitors were indulging in a wide array of culinary delights. Stalls offered various treats, including pizza, burgers, boiled corn, ice cream, coffee, tea, and much more.
The entire venue exuded a festive atmosphere, with both young and old relishing their meals and enjoying the occasion. Some attendees were on the lookout for a place to sit and savor their chosen snacks, while others strolled around, delighting in their food.
In addition to the laser show and food stalls, another popular attraction was a performance by acrobats, who captivated the audience with their musical acts. Their impressive tricks drew enthusiastic applause, and soon after, young children took to the stage, providing even more entertainment.
A group of approximately twelve children participated in a game where they stood in a line, each wearing a circular ring around their bodies while carefully listening to Bollywood music. Their objective was to keep the ring above their waists until the music ceased. Those unable to do so were eliminated from the competition, which continued until only one participant remained. This lively contest sparked much enthusiasm and laughter among the audience.
The highlight of the evening was a spectacular laser show that illuminated the sky over Muscat. The performance commenced with the Omani flag waving gracefully, followed by a striking image of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, who appeared to stand proudly in the sky.
Subsequently, various Omani figures and characters were projected, captivating the onlookers. Many spectators along the road paused their vehicles to enjoy the mesmerizing display.
This grand finale marked a fitting conclusion to an eventful evening, yet the crowd remained reluctant to depart. They appeared energized and eager to extend their time at Qurum Park. The decision to prolong the event proved to be a wise one, as the festival likely provided valuable insights for numerous Omani startups showcasing their stalls in the park.
