Riyadh: Jasem Al-Budaiwi, the Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), has expressed his support for the Sultanate of Oman’s role in facilitating discussions between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States.
He highlighted Oman’s prudent strategy in fostering dialogue and creating understanding among nations, along with its unwavering dedication to bolstering security and stability in the region.
In his statement, he noted that the GCC member states are committed to leveraging their strong relationships with other countries to seek peaceful resolutions to conflicts and to propose initiatives that benefit both the region's populace and the global community. He emphasized that the Council is dedicated to promoting peace and security at both regional and international levels.
Al-Budaiwi conveyed his optimism that these productive discussions would lead to favorable outcomes, opening new pathways for collaboration between Iran and the US that would contribute to enhanced security and stability in the region.
