Muscat: Today marked the opening of the Al Jabal Al Akhdar Public Park in the Seih Qatna district of Al Jabal Al Akhdar, Al Dakhiliyah Governorate.
As part of initiatives to improve the governorate's tourism and recreational infrastructure, the project, which cost over OMR 1.1 million and spans 20,000 square meters, is a significant addition to a package of development projects that promote Al Jabal Al Akhdar's status as a top tourist destination nationally and regionally.
In addition to organizing tourism and community events and activities, the project provides diverse investment opportunities for small and medium businesses, such as the operation of some establishments and businesses, according to Khalid bin Adim Al Salmi, an engineer and Director of the Planning and Investment Department at the Governor's Office of Al Dakhiliyah.
Even if Reflecting the aims of Oman Vision 2040 to encourage entrepreneurship and community engagement, Salm highlighted that the predicted influx of tourists will help to boost economic activity in the governorate and assist entrepreneurs.
The park is a popular spot for tourists and locals year round because its design caters to the demands of people of all ages and offers multifunctional facilities that combine sports, culture, and amusement.
It is important to note that the development of this park falls under the purview of the overall development that the Wilayat of Al Jabal Al Akhdar has seen and includes integrated recreational amenities such as a children's play area covering 1,000 square meters, sports paths, investment areas, an area for electric games, as well as prayer rooms and restrooms for men and women. Additionally, the park features green areas covering 5,000 square meters with vegetation that improves the site's appearance and serves as a public venue for family activities and neighborhood gatherings, as well as an open multiuse theater.
