Training Camp Kicks Off For Participation In International Nuclear Science Olympiad In Malaysia

Muscat: On Wednesday, the Ministry of Education began the national team's core training camp for the International Nuclear Science Olympiad in Bangi, Malaysia.

The tournament, now in its second edition, will be held from July 31 to August 5, 2025, and will feature four students from the educational directorates of Muscat, North Al Sharqiyah, Al Dakhiliyah, and South Al Batinah.

The training camp, organized by the Department of Innovation and Scientific Olympiad, provides theoretical instruction on how to solve nuclear science Olympiad difficulties, practical training on nuclear physics experiments, the resolution of advanced exercises and problems, and skill development for dealing with complex challenges.

The initiative seeks to improve students' ability to tackle sophisticated challenges through intensive drills that simulate the Olympiad's structure, providing them with the skills necessary for exceptional performance in the event.

The International Nuclear Science Olympiad, sponsored by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), is a worldwide competition aimed at increasing awareness about the peaceful applications of nuclear science and technology. It encourages students with a love for the subject to create autonomous and unique solutions to nuclear science and technology problems.

The Olympiad also focuses on disseminating knowledge and deepening understanding of nuclear science and technology in order to encourage a scientific approach to its applications. Furthermore, it strives to spark interest in the subject among secondary school students around the world.
