London: Following a tough victory at The Oval to finish the series with a 2-2 score in England, Team India has climbed to third place in the ICC World Test Championships (WTC) standings, with two victories, two losses, and a draw in the current cycle thus far.
The WTC standings have changed dramatically after excellent spells from Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna helped India secure a six-run victory in a climactic showdown at The Oval, tying the series 2-2.
While it is early in the WTC27 cycle, India has overtaken England to finish third in the ICC World Test Championship table with their victory in the final Test, winning 12 important points. According to the ICC, they currently have 28 points and a points percentage of 46.67%.
Despite having the same number of wins and draws as India, England is now ranked fourth in the table with 26 points and a points percentage of 43.33%. Their position was harmed by a two-point penalty for a sluggish over rate in the Lord's Test.
Australia continue atop the standings, having won all three of their matches so far in this cycle. Their opponents in those games, the West Indies, have yet to earn a point and are sixth in the table, ahead of South Africa, New Zealand, and Pakistan, all of whom have yet to play a match in this cycle.
Sri Lanka presently ranks second in the ICC World Test Championship rankings, having won one match and drawn the other two, with a points percentage of 66.67%.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh is ranked fifth with only four points and a points percentage of 16.67%.
