India: Mumbai City On High Alert Following Terror Threat

The Mumbai Police announced that it has received a threat message via its traffic police helpline, originating from a group identifying itself as 'Lashkar-e-Jihadi'.

The communication asserted that 34 "human bombs" equipped with 400 kg of RDX have been placed in 34 vehicles throughout the city, aiming to execute an explosion that would "shake the entire city."

In response, security measures have been significantly enhanced across Mumbai.

Authorities have advised the public to stay calm, refrain from spreading rumors, and promptly report any suspicious activities.

This threat was received just before a major festival in the city, leading to increased security to safeguard the large crowds expected for the immersion of Ganesh idols.
