Dhank: The Wilayat of Dhank in Al Dhahirah Governorate hosted an awareness workshop on Thursday named "Your Mind is Your Identity – Don't Lose It to Drugs," which was organized by Sheikh Musallam Ahmed Al Ma'shani, Wali of Dhank.
The event was planned as part of continuing community efforts to promote national belonging and strengthen Omani identity while addressing the challenges of drugs and psychotropic drugs.
The seminar included two primary thematic discussions. The first section provided critical perspectives on the issue, including the health implications, legal ramifications, and religious rulings on drug usage. The session opened with a powerful dramatic performance by the Wahj Al Khayal company, depicting the terrible impact of drugs on individuals and society.
The second part of the workshop explored concepts such as identity and citizenship ideals. A working document on this topic was presented, emphasizing the critical role of national identity in developing an aware and cohesive society capable of tackling numerous obstacles.
A major highlight of the event was the official unveiling of the winning design for Dhank's Community Competition Team to Fight Drug Abuse. This project seeks to raise community awareness and encourage youth-led drug prevention programs, demonstrating the local dedication to tackling this important social issue.
