Muscat: On Thursday, the Middle East College in Muscat hosted the Students Research Conference focused on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Cybersecurity.
In its 7th iteration, the conference examined how AI facilitates transitions in diverse sectors and highlighted the crucial need to engage the younger generation in shaping a digital future. It was conducted under the leadership of Dr. Rahma Ibrahim Al Mahrouqi, the Minister of Higher Education, Research, and Innovation.
This event aims to foster academic research and innovation while aligning the educational outcomes of graduates with the demands of the labor market.
The activities of the conference on Thursday featured panel discussions, concurrent research presentations, skills development workshops, and a competition centered around AI technologies.
Additionally, the conference offered workshops focusing on CV crafting, cognitive ability assessments, and specific sessions concerning AI's applications in areas such as supply chains, education, information security, computer vision, and multimedia computing.
Several research papers presented at the conference will be chosen for publication in a peer-reviewed journal, providing students with an avenue to share their findings and exhibit their scholarly accomplishments.
