Muscat: According to a Foreign Ministry spokeswoman, after recent consultations and contacts between the Sultanate of Oman, the United States, and the competent authorities in Sana'a, Republic of Yemen, efforts to deescalate tensions resulted in a truce agreement between the two sides.
Under this agreement, neither side will attack the other, including American ships, in the Red Sea and the Bab AlMandab Strait, so protecting freedom of navigation and assuring the unobstructed passage of international commercial cargo.
The Sultanate of Oman expresses gratitude to both groups for their productive strategy, which resulted in this happy conclusion. It is expected that this progress will open the way for more progress on regional concerns, furthering our common objectives of justice, peace, and prosperity for all.
