Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman has applauded the announcement by the Prime Ministers of Canada and Malta that their governments will recognise the State of Palestine.
Oman applauded this diplomatic progress as a significant and serious step toward maintaining the Palestinian people's right to self-determination, according to a statement released by the Foreign Ministry on Thursday.
The action reflects the international community's support for the twostate solution and the creation of an independent Palestinian state, which will help achieve the goal of a just and lasting peace in the Middle East.
