Oman Announces Plans For Dhofar Autumn Season 2025

Muscat: The astronomical onset of the Dhofar Autumn season in 2025 is set for 21 June.

At a press conference held during the Arabian Travel Market in Dubai, His Excellency Sayyid Marwan bin Turki Al Said, the Chairman of Dhofar Municipality, announced that the festivities and events corresponding to the Dhofar Autumn Season will kick off on this astronomical date and will run until 20 September each year.

"The Attin Square venue is planned to serve as an international hub for events, incorporating an extensive shopping area, an outdoor theatre, a contemporary gaming section, and an upgraded lighting and laser display," the Chairman of Dhofar Municipality remarked.

His Excellency also mentioned that Awqad Park will focus on family-friendly entertainment options, whereas Salalah Public Park will host a variety of sporting events during the autumn season, and Al Marooj Theatre will be the site for a range of cultural happenings involving both local and international talents.

He expressed, "The 'Return of the Past' activities this season will showcase a refreshed presentation that reflects elements of traditional Omani culture from the different governorates of the Sultanate of Oman," highlighting that the event venue has seen significant upgrades to enhance its heritage significance.

The Chairman of Dhofar Municipality noted that efforts would be made to broaden the range of events to encompass some coastal wilayats of the governorate that are influenced by the autumn season, presenting a mix of cultural, sporting, and commercial activities.

He added, "The Dhofar Municipality has launched various development initiatives in collaboration with both governmental and private organizations. These include improvements to scenic viewpoints, enhancements of tourist attractions, the upgrading of internal roadways, and overall city beautification aimed at enriching the visitor experience and developing tourism infrastructure. "

His Excellency, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism for Tourism, pointed out that a number of new tourism and hospitality facilities are set to launch this year. The Dhofar Governorate currently features 83 hotel establishments offering 6,537 licensed rooms in distinct categories, prepared to receive travelers.

"The Ministry has started rolling out several promotional initiatives for the Dhofar Autumn Season which includes participation in the Arabian Travel Market in Dubai, marketing efforts across various Arab media channels and social media platforms, as well as targeted marketing campaigns in Gulf and regional markets," His Excellency concluded.
