OIA Launches 3rd Edition Of Mu’tamad Programme

Muscat — The Oman Investment Authority (OIA) has revealed that registration for the third round of its “Mu’tamad” Graduate Employment and Development programme is now open.
This initiative underscores OIA’s dedication to nurturing Omani graduates and addressing labor market disparities through job creation and by improving Omanization rates through the skill development of local talent.
Targeting graduates from fields such as accounting, finance, cybersecurity, information security, computer science, and IT, this edition features a new specialization in cybersecurity, which provides targeted certifications to meet the increasing needs of the labor market in that area, alongside the established tracks in finance and accounting.
In the previous two editions of the programme, 50 participants successfully completed all requirements to earn accredited certifications in accounting and finance.
This initiative aims to empower national talent by equipping participants with essential skills and knowledge in areas including accounting, finance, taxation, auditing, business management, investment, cybersecurity, and information security. It also offers technical training to enable them to thrive in various roles.
What sets this programme apart is the integration of training with immediate employment prospects following certification.
Fahmi Zahir Al Mazroui, who is the Acting Head of Human Resources and Change at OIA, expressed that the launch of the third edition of Mu’tamad highlights OIA’s continuous endeavors to strengthen national capabilities and improve overall workforce preparedness.
He mentioned that Mu’tamad represents a progressive step towards allowing Omani nationals to achieve internationally recognized certifications, enhancing efficiency in the sectors of finance, accounting, and cybersecurity while boosting productivity and generating job opportunities that align with employment and Omanization objectives.
Applicants must meet specific eligibility criteria, which include possessing a bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting for CFA or ACCA certifications, or in cybersecurity, information security, computer science, or IT for cybersecurity certifications. A minimum GPA of 2. 7 is required, and candidates must be Omani citizens who are registered as job seekers in the employment system.
The opening of registration for this third edition will take place from April 28 to May 15, 2025, after which selected candidates will advance to the written examination and interview stages for final selection.
