MoU Inked To Develop Marine Sports, Promote Oman’s Maritime Heritage

Muscat: Oman LNG, through its development foundation, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Oman Maritime Sports Committee (OMSC), indicating a mutual commitment to promote and develop marine sports while restoring Oman's maritime legacy. The agreement also seeks to allow many community organizations to engage in marine-themed athletic and cultural events.

The Memorandum of Understanding aims to strengthen the two countries' strategic cooperation while also promoting the development of both traditional and modern marine sports, hence preserving and sustaining Oman's true character.

The cooperation encompasses supporting and sponsoring activities and initiatives coordinated by the committee, as well as sharing knowledge and best practices in sports management, volunteer work, and event planning. Furthermore, the collaboration will offer training programs to create national teams and improve media and marketing coordination in order to highlight these activities, their goals, and their influence.

Dr. Amer Nasser Al Mata'eni, CEO of Oman LNG's Development Foundation, stated that this MoU exemplifies the foundation's dedication to maintaining Oman's maritime identity and legacy, while also empowering the community—particularly youth and families—to participate in events that honor these ideals and traditions.
