Mussanah: The Engineering and Technology College at UTAS-Al Mussanah, in conjunction with the Research and Consultation Department, is hosting a two-day international event titled "Sustainable Development in Engineering and Technology – ICSDET 2025," scheduled for April 30th and May 1st, 2025, in association with the Global College of Engineering and Technology.
This event assembles scholars and professionals from various disciplines such as Computer Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, as well as Civil and Architectural Engineering, to engage in discussions surrounding recent advancements in sustainable development, exchange perspectives, and share valuable research findings in the realms of engineering and technology.
The conference serves as a worldwide venue for idea-sharing, enhancing collaboration between the academic community and industry, and bolstering sustainable development initiatives that align with Oman Vision 2040. It aims to promote innovation, environmentally sustainable practices, and increased resilience within engineering, thereby contributing to Oman's objectives of economic diversification, environmental protection, and knowledge-driven growth through sustainable engineering practices.
Discussions at the conference will center on sustainable development within engineering and technology, covering advancements in data and computing technologies, communication and electronic systems, sustainable energy solutions, innovations in manufacturing and mechanical engineering, among other topics that resonate with Oman Vision 2040. The significance of sustainable development will be highlighted as essential for environmental safeguarding, ensuring economic sustainability over time, and building resilience against current challenges, thereby securing a commitment to future generations.
The event will showcase more than 100 research contributions that highlight findings and innovations from a range of engineering sectors. Additionally, there will be five keynote speakers who will provide their expertise on themes relevant to the conference’s goals. Anticipating participation from over 300 attendees with diverse academic and research experiences, the conference aims to enhance the flow of ideas and foster collaborative endeavors.
