Information Minister Meets ROP Commanders, Reviews Media Role

Nizwa: On Wednesday, Dr. Abdullah Nasser Al Harrasi, Minister of Information, met with several Royal Oman Police (ROP) officials at the Sultan Qaboos Academy for Police Sciences' Officers' Institute in Nizwa.

The meeting was attended by Lt. Gen. Hassan Mohsin Al Shuraiqi, the Inspector General of Police and Customs.

During the meeting, Dr. Abdullah examined the basics, present status, and future projections of Omani media, highlighting its significance in bolstering national security. He emphasized the significance of security media in communicating police messages, as well as the media's response to different events and emergency situations.

He also discussed governorates media, foreign media, the Government Communication Center, and the responsibilities of the Directorate General of Publications and Artistic Works.

He stated that Omani media is based on national values and principles, demonstrating the country's dedication to achieving overall developmental goals, constructing national identity, and promoting social cohesion.

The minister stated that Oman Vision 2040 provides possibilities for media organizations to adopt new technologies and improve digital media content. He praised the strong degree of coordination and cooperation between the ROP and local media outlets.
