Forum Discusses Digital Revolution In Libraries

Al Musannah: On Monday, the University of Technology and Applied Sciences (UTAS) in Al Musannah hosted the second edition of its university library forum, themed "Libraries and Information Institutions in the Era of Digital Revolution: The Transformation of Present and Future." This event took place in the South Al Batinah Governorate.

The opening ceremony was graced by the presence of Sheikh Ahmed Ali Al Habsi, Wali of Al Musannah.

The forum acted as a significant platform for knowledge sharing, aimed at strengthening the role of libraries in adapting to digital transformation and incorporating artificial intelligence (AI) tools. It tackled current challenges and promoted the exchange of expertise among professionals, contributing to the advancement of this essential sector.

The event showcased various research papers covering a range of topics, including "Ethics of Using AI in Scientific Research." Successful implementations of AI in libraries and information institutions were also presented, with insights from the Ministry of Education and Sultan Qaboos University.

Furthermore, the forum featured a panel discussion involving library directors and experts focused on AI applications within libraries and information institutions.

The forum underscored the necessity of integrating AI technologies in libraries and information institutions to improve service quality and keep pace with swift digital advancements.
