Clinic To Protect Arabian Leopard Launched In Dhofar Governorate

Muscat: Today, the inaugural regional initiative aimed at safeguarding the Arabian leopard in Dhofar Governorate was officially launched in Muscat.

This initiative features a mobile veterinary clinic equipped with state-of-the-art medical tools. It functions as a comprehensive unit capable of swift action in the realm of Arabian leopard conservation.

With the support of a dedicated veterinary team, the unit will conduct training programs to educate local personnel on wildlife protection methods.

The project receives backing from the Arabian Leopard Fund, in collaboration with the Environment Authority. Its goal is to deliver urgent veterinary assistance to Arabian leopards within their natural environment in the challenging mountainous regions of Dhofar Governorate—one of the last remaining habitats for this endangered species in the Arabian Peninsula.
