Arab League Lauds Oman’s Efforts In Achieving Yemen Ceasefire Agreement

Cairo: The Arab League hailed the diplomatic efforts and mediation made by Oman, which helped achieve a ceasefire settlement in Yemen, as well as the efforts of the United States.

According to the Arab League's General Secretariat, it hopes that the agreement will alleviate the humanitarian suffering of the Yemeni people, reduce current military escalation, and promote ongoing diplomatic efforts to halt Israeli aggression in the Gaza Strip, as well as resolve other major regional issues.

It also emphasized the necessity of reestablishing marine security in the Red Sea and the Bab elMandeb Strait while enabling the smooth flow of global commercial traffic through regional seas and waterways.

The General Secretariat reaffirmed its commitment to the Arab League Council's resolutions endorsing Yemen's legitimate government and the steps taken to protect the Republic of Yemen's unity and sovereignty.
