SQU Announces Winners Of Royal Grant For Strategic Research Projects

Muscat: Today, Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) named the top 10 recipients of the 2025 Royal Grant for Strategic Research Projects.

A ceremony celebrating the 25th anniversary of University Day saw the statement made.

The ceremony was held with the backing of Finance Minister Sultan Salim Al Habsi.

The International Research Management Conference, which was held on University Day under the topic of "Scholarly Research and Sustainability: A Vision for Change," coincided with the event.

The goal of the conference is to identify methods for promoting research sustainability at the institutional, national, and worldwide levels. It prioritizes improving sustainable funding models, fostering research collaborations (among academic, industrial, and governmental organizations), developing research capabilities, and implementing cutting-edge technologies to improve research methods and efficient research dissemination standards.

Three documentaries, including those about the Royal Grant for Strategic Research, University Day, and the SQU's accomplishments in postgraduate studies and scholarly research, were shown during the ceremony.

An exhibition that was held in conjunction with University Day was toured by Al Habsi and guests after the ceremony.

The show featured two platforms—the "Research Management System" and the "Publishing and Journals Management System"—as well as booths dedicated to postgraduate studies, sustainability in research, innovation, and technology transfer.
