Sohar: Oman Environmental Services Holding Company be'ah, represented by its Healthcare Waste Management Department, participated in a forum titled Investment in the Private Healthcare Sector: Opportunities and Challenges, organised by the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry's North Al Batinah branch.

The business released a technological working document titled "Healthcare Waste Management and Sustainability Challenges. "

The paper detailed Oman's healthcare trash management system, emphasizing the current facilities created by be'ah to support this critical sector. It demonstrated the most recent treatment technology being used, such as thermal treatment and sterilisation techniques, to guarantee the safe and effective disposal of this particular waste stream.

According to be'ah's 2024 Sustainability Report, the company's medical trash processing facilities successfully processed over 4,000 metric tonnes of medical waste in 2023. This accomplishment has directly helped to support public health activities and environmental conservation efforts. The presentation also highlighted the problems that the business faces, especially in light of the tremendous growth of private healthcare services.

The paper emphasized the need of developing relationships between the public and commercial sectors in order to properly and sustainably manage this dangerous trash type.

This involvement is part of be'ah's continuous efforts to encourage circular economy ideas in the healthcare industry, reaffirming its commitment to Oman Vision 2040 and Sustainable Development Goals by providing innovative solutions that safeguard human health and the environment.

The conference gave a significant platform for exchanging best practices and new ways to healthcare waste management, with be'ah offering its knowledge based on years of operational experience in this niche. The company's presentation was favourably welcomed by participants, who included healthcare investors, facility operators, and environmental professionals.
