MUSCAT: The Directorate General for Combating Drugs and Psychotropic Substances, in collaboration with the Directorate of Customs at Muscat International Airport, has detained an Asian national for attempting to smuggle drugs into the nation.
The individual was caught upon arrival at the airport when officials found nine kilograms of marijuana meticulously hidden in his luggage. Investigations indicated that the drugs were meant for illicit trade within the Sultanate.
Authorities have confirmed that legal actions are currently in progress against the suspect. They reiterated their dedication to fighting drug trafficking and ensuring the safety of the country.
