Ibra: The Agricultural Products Collection Station in the North Al Sharqiyah Governorate is one of the most important initiatives aimed at promoting the agricultural sector and inspiring farmers, hence adding local value to the governorate's agricultural output.
The station functions as an integrated logistics hub for a variety of seasonal agricultural commodities.
Mohammed bin Ali Al Duwaiki, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Oman Agricultural Association in North A'Sharqiyah Governorate, told the Oman News Agency (ONA) that the agricultural products gathering station is financed with more than RO 300,000 by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Water Resources and the Agricultural and Fisheries Development Fund (AFDF).
He stated that the money helped the centre achieve its objectives, the most notable of which was encouraging farmers to market their goods in a way that guarantees the provision of high-quality supplies for domestic and international markets.
According to Al Duwaiki, the station, which spans 42,000 square metres, employs cutting-edge technology to protect, package, and market goods to the highest quality before releasing them.
By establishing these agricultural product gathering centers in the Sultanate of Oman's governorates, the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Water Resources hopes to build networks of state-of-the-art marketing outlets that will help to create local added value and market local agricultural products that are consistent with current technology and commercial marketing practices.
